NORTH SCHOOL

Accommodation Problem

”We have been pressing for further rooms at the Casa Nova School. It is not fair to our chidlren that they should have to go to town to attend school when we have plenty of room for additions at Casa Nova, Mr W. R. Lgney. president, said at the annual meeting of the North Oamaru Citizens’ Association on Monday night. The position at the Oamaru North School was that the headmaster was now complaining of the shortage of accommodation. The new North School was built to take fewer children than ■ were accommodated at the old school, he said. Mr Laney expressed the view that the old Middle School would be used for some time to come.

The Education Board had given an assurance that the question of additions to the Casa Nova School would be considered in this year’s estimates. The question of additional accommodation, he said, was one that should occupy the rqinds of the incoming executive.
