MINISTER’S PRAISE
WORK OF RAILWAYS STAFF PA WELLINGTON, Jan. 17. The Minister of Railways, Mr Goosman, in a statement today praised the railways staff on the manner in which they <had coped - with the extremely heavy holiday traffic in both islands. All did a grand job, he said. The standard of timekeeping was very good, and an outstanding improvement on even last year. The drivers of the road services branch also did a particularly good job in moving the large numbers of passengers, and the Minister paid a tribute to their record of safe driving.
