RIVER REPORTS
From the river reports available this week it appears that the best waters for the holiday period will be in the southern districts. The Mimihau, Wyndham, Mataura and Catlins rivers are all in first-class order for fly fishing but the Shag river is rising and will probably be too high. The Pomahaka and Owaka rivers are both slightly below normal level. The Mahinerangi Dam is in good order but ny fishing is not producing the best results. The Otago Acclimatisation Society advises that no reports will be available for the next two weeks.
