ENGAGEMENT EXPECTED
KING FAROUK OF EGYPT Rec. 8 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 29. The New York correspondent of the Daily Telegraph reports that King Farouk, of Egypt, wno is now 29, is expected to marry the 16-year-old daughter of Narriman Hurrein Sadek Bey, until recently secretary-general of the Egyptian Ministry of Communications. King Farouk divorced his former wife, Queen Farida, only
last year. She was, before her marriage, Mademoiselle Farida Zulficar, daughter of the vice-president of the Egyptian Court of Appeal According to the Daily Telegraph s correspondent, the King first saw Sadek in November, when she was taken by her fiance to Abdin Palace to secure the king’s blessing upon their marriage. The wedding was to have taken place on December 8, but shortly after the palace visit the engagement was broken. Correspondents of other London newspapers confirm the King’s expected engagement to Sadek.
