LIST OF ATTRACTIONS PLUNKET SHIELD CRICKET Starting tomorrow, the Plunket Shield cricke't match at Carisbrook between Otago and Auckland, will be the maih New Year sporting event in the city. A New Year holiday tournament will be conducted by the St. Clair Golf Club, and the speedway will provide another night of exciting racer on Monday, January 2. Several .racing l ! and trotting fixtures are set down for the week-end. and they should be well supported. The list of sporting attractions is:— Saturday, December 31 Plunket Shield cricket, Otago y. Auckland, at Carisbrook. Oamaru Jockey Club. Win toil trots. Sunday, January 1 St. Clair Golf Club’s holiday tournament (handicap events). Monday, January 2 Plunket Shield cricket, at Carisbrook. St. Clair Golf Club’s holiday tournament. Waikouaiti Racing Club. Wyndham Racing Club. Hill clubs’ bowling tournament (Roslyn, Kaikorai and Balmacewen). Speedway races. Tahuna Park. Tuesday, January 3 PlUriket Shield cricket.' at Carisbrook. St. Clair Golf Club’s holiday tournament. Kurow Jockey Club, at Oamaru. Southland Racing Club, at Invercargill. Wednesday, January 4 Southland Racing Club, at Invercargill. \ Saturday, January 7 Plunket Shield cricket, Otago v. Canterbury, at Carisbrook (and on January 9, 10 and 11).
