FEWER INQUIRIES Not so many inquiries as to routes and the condition of roads had been received from motorists this year as last, said Mr A. T. Francis, secretary of the North Otago Automobile Association, yesterday. This appeared to indicate that motorists conmpleted inquiries prior to embarking on their journeys. The usual number of break-downs had been reported, he said, but the district had been free from any major accidents. THE RAINFALL Thirty-eight points of rain were recorded by Mr F. G. Russell to 9 a.m. on Thursday morning, making the total for the month to date 423 points. HIGH TIDES
High tides at the Port of Oamaru today are at 11.50 a.m. and 11.55 p.m.
