OBITUARY
Mrs Jennie Macandrew Mrs Jennie Macandrew, of Titirangi, who gave a lifetime of service to music in New Zealand, has died in Auckland at the age of 83. She made her musical debut in the Dominion in 1878, and was one of the earliest students of the Royal College of Music, under Sir Arthur Sullivan. , , Mrs Macandrew was the cathedral organist at Dunedin for several years in the eighties, and later at a Christchurch church. Competitors at musical competitions in many towns of New Zealand remember with affection her admirable work as an accompanist. She had lived at Titirangi for many years.
