Mathieson, of Pahiatua, is staying at the City Hotel. Mrs E. M. Wedlake and Mrs Ida Fitzpatrick are the guests of Mr and Mrs C. J. Muir, Hawea Flat. Mrs J. S. Sinclair and Miss Sinclair are the guests of Mr and Mrs J. S. Hunt at Wanaka. Mrs K. Campbell, Maitland street, has returned from a holiday at Hampden. Mr and Mrs Mark Hanan are spending the New Year holidays at Karitane. Miss Gladys Crust, of Wellington, is the guest of Mrs J. Cunningham. Miss H. Webb, of Oamaru, will sail by the Monowai from Auckland on December 30 for Australia. Mr and Mrs A. Pritchard, of Timaru, are the guests of Mrs J. Wilson, Sawyers’ Bay. Mrs Gerald J. Thompson, Cargill street, is visiting Invercargill for the KeanDeegan wedding. Mrs T. Neil, of Auckland, is the guest of her mother. Mrs W. Stevenson, sen., Nevada street. Mrs Frank V. Wade, of Christchurch, is staying at the City Hotel. Mrs Douglas Gray, of Auckland, is the guest of Mrs Arthur Roydhouse, Roslyn. Dr and Mrs Harold Palmer have returned from a holiday at Akaroa. The Highland Society of New South Wales has appointed Mrs Mavis Perfect, of Christchurch (daughter of Mr W. G. Robb, St. Hilda), as an adjudicator of dancing for its Highland gathering, to be held at Sydney on New Year’s Day.
