LORD ELGIN SELECTED WESTERN WINNER IN SPRINT The Waikouaiti Club has also had an excellent response from owners and trainers for its meeting on Monday and a majority of the fields run to outsize proportions. The races nominated for the double are the Waikouaiti Cup and the Bray Hack Handicap, which will now be run after the New Year Trot. The fields may carry a different complexion after the Oamaru meeting tomorrow, but selections for Monday are:— 12.0: Trial Plate.—Hobgoblin, Acme, Wyldeye. 12.40: Domain Trotting Handicap.— Ebony Hall, Swithindale, Super Sarin. 1.30: High-weight Handicap.—Bren Gun, Salmon King, Vanity King. 12.15: Waikouaiti Cup.—Lord Elgin, Night Owl, Trench Fray. 2.55: New Year Trot—Ebony Hall, Swithindale, Red Sea. 3.50: Bray Hack Handicap.—Exchange, Flying Agnes, Airspeed. 4.30: Toomey Memorial Handicap.— Western Winner, Whitley, Red Pickle. 5.15: Hawkesbury Hack Handicap.— Royal Scrip, Beau Soir, Indiana.
