PIPE BAND
The North Otago Highland Pipe Band paid its Christmas visit to the Oamaru Public Hospital on Christmas Eve, and presented a programme that was thoroughly enjoyed by the patients and stall. After the visit the band played in Thames and Ribble streets. The band has found difficulty over the past few Christmas periods in holding parades because of the number of bandsmen on annual vacation, and for this reason it will not parade on New Years Eve. With the prospect of an increase in membership, it is thought possible that the band will be in a position to accept all holiday engagements next year.
