CHILD FATALLY BURNED
POOL OF PETROL ON FIRE PA GISBORNE, Dec. 27. When a pool of petrol, in which the child was sitting, ignited, Netana Bristowe, 19-month-old- son of Mr and Mrs Eru Bristowe. of Awatere. suffered extensive burns from which he died later.
Apparently several children were experimenting with petrol, which they obtained from a locked milking shed engine room. One child lit a match and petrol on the floor burst into flames, burning the child from the legs to the waist. The child died a few hours after reaching hospital.
