FLOODS IN CYPRUS
NICOSIA. Dec. 22,
Floods, following five days’ torrential rain, caused the loss of at least 20 lives and much damage to bridges and roads throughout the island of Cyprus. A lorry, a few miles outside Nicosia, was engulfed in a torrent sweeping across a road, and of 20 passengers only one escaped.
