Senor Don Victoriano de la Torre has been appointed Consul for the Argentine in Wellington. Mr J. Morling has been appointed a temporary stipendiary magistrate for the period from November 29, 1949. to November 28, 1950. The appointment of Captain P. M. Church as deputy harbour master and chief pilot was confirmed by the Otago Harbour Board at its monthly meeting last night. Captain Church, who 'will take up his appointment in January next, is at present deputy harbour master at Bluff. The directors of % Coulls Somerville Wilkie, Ltd. announce that Mr J. L. Gregory, a director since 1943, has retired from the board in order to devote his full time to a senior executive position in the head office. Mr R. F. Barr has joined the board, and Mr D. W. Davies formerly secretary of the company, has been appointed general manager for New Zealand.
