Shah Of Persia Begins Visit WASHINGTON, Nov. 16. The Shah of Persia arrived in Washington to-day in j President Truman’s private plane to begin a month’s visit. Diplomatic circles believe the main objective of the Shah’s visit is to seek more United States military aid to build his army into a force Russia will respect. President Truman greeted the Shah with a formal speech praising Persia's “ courage and farsightedness,” and predicted that the United States and Persian ties “ will become still closer in the years aheafl."
