TWO BOMBERS COLLIDE IN MID-AIR
Rec. 1 a.m. NEW YORK, Nov. 17. Two Super-Fortress bombers collided in the air near Stockton (California) yesterday and fell in an area of waterways and marshlands which was covered by dense fog.
The burned wreckage of the -two bombers was found with several charred bodies discernible inside. A number of bodies were strewen around the wreckage. Seven survivors are reported ,to have been found. Super-Fortress bombers generally carry a crew of 11. One survivor gept muttering: “The other plane ran smack into me.”
