Banks Besieged For Crowns
“We have had a frightful day,” said one bank officer yesterday. He was no doubt speaking with feeling, but the hundreds of Dunedin citizens who secured their crown pieces from the Dunedin trading banks went away happy. People began queueing outside bank doors an hour before opening time yesterday morning to make sure that they got one of the 3440 crown pieces allocated to Dunedin out * of nearly 200,00 coins which were minted for the royal tour. One bank had exhausted its
