ANALYSIS OF RESULTS PA ' WELLINGTON. Nov. 17. An improvement in the standard of motor vehidle brakes is shown in the final results of the Dominion-wide check conducted in the past month by the Transport Department. The percentage rof brakes found in ' poor condition wais 5.58 , compared with 9.6 last year. V . In'the cotirse of the campaign* the brakes of $647 motor vehicles were examined. (These were divided into 4161 private cars, 1355 light trucks, 893 heav# trucks, 58 V plate vehicles; and 180 others. The proportion found to have . j lon-ccmforming brakes was 6.16 per cejnt. in the private car group, 5.31 per ceint of light trucks, 3.36 per cent, of heasvy trucks, 1.73 per cent, of V plate -Tehicles, and 6.66 per cent, of other vehicles. In all, 153 traffic offenaeis notices were issued. Nefirly 1500 vehicles were checked in the last week of the drive.
