PLUKET BALL AT GREEN ISLAND
The first debutante ball held by the Green Island sub-branch of the Plunket Society was very successful. The six debutantes were presented to Mrs L. F. Cleghorn, immediate past president of the Dunedin branch of the society, and others in the official party were the Mayor of Green Island, Mr J. Boomer, and Mrs Boomer, Mrs S. A. Corbett, president of the sub-branch, and Mrs w. Ewart, president of the Mosgiel branch. The chaperones were Mrs J. Green and Mrs J. C. Greaney, and the masters of ceremonies were Messrs J. C. Greaney, W. A. McLean and S. A. Corbett.
The debutantes were:—Miss Beverley Holland (ivory corded marquisette), Miss Muriel McMaster (white georgette over satin). Miss Jean Wylie (white taffeta inset with white lace), Miss Hilda Brockie (white embossed cloque), Miss Betty Vivian (Swiss embroidered organdie), and Miss Edith Bridger (white moire taffeta).
