LABOUR’S OVERTURE
Sir,—“Awake ’’ thinks he is awake. Our Prime Minister is Kust as good as our late Prime Minister, who set the ball rolling. It has been going ever since. They are two of the greatest statesmen the world has ever known. Mr Fraser does not go in for sob stuff to win the simpleminded man's vote; he leaves that to the other side of the House. It is only that vote and "Awake’s ” vote that will get the National Party anywhere. H was asleep before Labour came into power. What a state the country was in then, riddled with soup kitchens, boys coming to manhood with no trade and nothing to look forward to, working on forestry for 10s a week, or working from daylight to dark for farmers for their keep. The Labour statesmen nave made this country a heaven on earth. Let us put them back, with thanksgiving to the Almighty, stronger than ever this election, and see what happens.—l am, etc., M. M. L.
