COMMUNION TABLE
Dedicated To Past Ministers
The unveiling and dedication of the memorial communion table at the silver jubilee celebrations of the Tokorahi Presbyterian Church took place on Sunday in the presence of a large gathering. Mrs A. Sangster, of Duntroon, unveiled ilie tabic, which was given by the congregation in memory of the past, ministers—the Revs. P. S. Hay, A. Sangster. and J. T. V. Steele. The Rev. G. L. Taylor, a past minister of the parish, offered the prayer of dedication. The jubilee service was held in the hall, and was conducted by Mr Taylor and the Rev. C. R. Sprackett. “ They without us cannot be made perfect ” was Mr Taylor’s text. The past with its record of faith and courage was an inheritance. Mr Taylor said, something to cherish, strengthen and hand on. The pioneers launched enterprises which they could not finish, and it was the task of the people of to-day to take up the torch and run the race of life with endurance. The work of - the pioheers and that of his hearers went together. The danger facing church people to-day was that of living on their spiritual capital, their inheritance, without handing on a vital Christianity, which was the real bulwark against Communism.
