PROMINENT JOURNALIST
DEATH OF MR D. G. McKAY PA AUCKLAND, Oct. .14. The death occurred to-day after a long illness of Mr Duncan George McKay, formerly chief reporter of the Auckland Star. He would have been 68 to-morrow. Born at Gisborne and educated at the Auckland Grammar School,/Mr McKay entered journalism in 1913 on the staff of the Whangarei Mail. He later was chief reporter of the Wanganui Chronicle. He joined, the Auckland Star in 1926 and retired in 1945. He leaves a wife and one son, Mr V. McKay—the latter in Fiji—and a married daughter.
