SPCA ANNUAL MEETING
Mr H. Hay was in the chair at the annual meeting of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals on Thursday night. The president, in referring to the year’s activities, stated that the society had earned the respect of the community and was now being well supported in the good work that it was doing throughout the district. It was decided that the society should hold a pets' parade on Saturday. November 26.
The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr M. F. E. Cooney; president, Mr H. Hay: vice-presidents—Messrs H. Domigan, N. Gilchrist, J. Kirkness, N. Williams. Drs R. Orbell, R. S. Fitzgerald, S. Morton. E. E. Butler, E. Stubbs and Rae Brown; secretary, Mrs Hart; treasurer, Mr A, Stock'; , committee— Mesdames Hart, A. Corlett, Miss S. Jones, Messrs Williams, Craigh, Flett and Stock; inspectors, Mr A. A. Stock (town) and Mr F. Flett (country).
