LATE RATES MAINTAINED Yardings in all sections at the Balclutha stock sale were small yesterday, but all classes met with a buoyant sale at values firm on late rates. Quotations: — , Fat Sheep.—There was a yarding of 160 fat sheep. ..Prime woolly wethers, 63s 6d; medium, 55s 6d to 595; prime woolly ewes, 50s 6d to 52s 6d; medium, 46s to 495; prime shorn ewes, 39s 3d to 40s 6d; medium, 235.
Store sheep.—There was a yarding of 547 store sheep. Good f. and f.m. ewes and lambs, 31s 3d, all counted: medium f. and f.m. ewes and lambs, 24s 6d to 29s 6d, all counted: medium ewe hoggets, 58s to 59s 6d; good wether hoggets, in wool, 54s 3d to 54s 7d; good wether hoggets, shorn, 38s 3d to 38s 6d. Store cattle.—There was a yarding of 59 head of store cattle. Four-year-old bullocks, £22; three-year-old steers, £lB 17s: two-year-old steers, £ll 15s to £ls; two-year-old steers, mixed colours, £9 to £10; two-year-old heifers, in calf, £10; mixed sex calves, £6 10s.
