CATTLE SALE AT PALMERSTON
Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report. having conducted a successful sale of store cattld at the Palmerston Sale Yards on Thursday. A good attendance of buyers from as far south as Invercargill competed keenly for most lines and late values were well maintained. Owing to dry weathef' conditions, north buyers could not operate, and the bulk of the varding of 300 head went to the Taieri and South Otago. Prices were:— Four-year PA bullocks made £22 10s; three and four-year Shorthorn bullocks, £2l: three and four-year Hereford cross bullocks, £l7 ss; three-year Shorthorn bullocks. £l7, £ls 7s 6d. £l4 15s; twoyear PA steers, £ls 2s 6d, £l2 10s; twoyear Shorthorn cross steers, £l2 10s; twoyear Hereford steers, £l2 10s, £lO 10s; yearling PA steers, £ll ss, £8 16s; yearling Hereford steers, £8 15s; very small, £6 15s; three-year PA heifers (speyed), £l7; two-year crossbred speyed heifers, £ll ss; two-year Hereford speyed Heifers, £8 15s, £8 12s 6d, £8 2s 6d; yearling heifers, small, £6 10s; Hereford breeding cows, £ll ss; aged cows. £7 7s 6d.
