BRITAIN’S CONTRIBUTION TO IRO
GENEVA', Oct. 13. Britain will be asked to add about £1,900,000 to, her annual contribution to the International Refugee Organisation’s 145,000,000-dollar budget as a result of devaluation. Her total contribution is the equivalent in pounds sterling of 22,650,524 dollars for the year ending June, 1950. The British delegate, Mr C. J. Edmonds told the organisation’s General Council to-day that his country would pay on certain conditions, the chief of these being that other Governments with devalued currencies did the same.
