COMMUNISTS PROTEST
Nomination Of New French Prime Minister WORK STOPPAGE ORDERED NZPA—Copyright Rec. 9 p.m. PARIS, Oct. 13. The 56-year-old Socialist Minister, M. Jules Moch. is to ask the French National Assembly to-day to nominate him Prime Minister in succession to the radi.cal Premier, Dr Henri Queuille. In protest against his nomination, the Paris region of the Communist-domin-ated General Confederation of Labour has called on all Paris workers to down tools this afternoon. The confederation asked the workers to demonstrate against what it called M. Moch’s programme of “ misery, reaction, and war.” The duration of the stoppage was not specified. M, Moch incurred the wrath of the Communists when, as Minister of the Interior, he was responsible for breaking the coal strike last year. Political commentators agree that it will be touch and go whether he gets from the National Assembly the majority needed —one more than half the total number of deputies. -pljH -Ipsalmf thm arf odw ily nup thin
