AGAIN POSTPONED
INTER-DOMINION SKI CONTEST CONDITIONS TOO SEVERE PA NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 26. For the second day in succession, unfavourable weather to-day again forced the postponement of the start of the inter-dominion ski contest between Australia and New Zealand at Mount Ruapehu. Up till 11 a.m. the officials were hopeful of making a start, but from then onwards the weather steadily deteriorated. Finally, mist and rain, with a strong wind, forced the postponement of racing for the day. The course for the Slalom has been set and is located west of the Yankee Slalom just below the amphitheatre. The Downhill course is also ready. It starts on the shoulder of Te Heu Heu and runs down the Heu Heu Valley for a distance of about 2000 feet. A special weather report received from the meteorological office in Wellington indicates that the weather should clear by to-morrow. If it improves sufficiently, the Inter-dominion Slalom .will be run. but should the rate of improvement fall short of what is expected, the officials will endeavour to run the New Zealand Championship Long Distance Race.
