Peru Severs Diplomatic Relations With Cuba
Rec. 9 p.m. LIMA, Aug. 21. The Government of Peru broke off diplomatic relations with Cuba on Friday in protest against the alleged actions of the Cuban Embassy in aiding two Peruvian political refugees to flee the country. . A Note by the Foreign Minister. Senor Ernesto Rodriguez, charged that the Cuban Government had taken “ unprecedented steps” in helping two ex-Presidents of the Peruvian Chamber of Deputies, Fernando Leon de Vivero and Pedro Muniz, to escape to Cuba.
