ART EXHIBITION

MR H. V. MILLER’S GROUP An exhibition of paintings and art work by Mr H. V. Miller and his students —the first of its kind in Dunedin for some years—was opened, in the Treasure Chest gallery by Mr Mark Hanan yesterday. Mr Miller, a leading artist, who had exhibited his work throughout the Dominion, had the rare faculty of imparting his knowledge to others, said Mr Hanan commenting on the work of the junior and senior students. Mr Miller’s work, moreover, was noted for its excellent drawing and design, and combined a pleasing subject with good colour. The group had been in existence. only a short time, but should play a definite part in guiding public taste. Mr Miller's paintings are mainly water-colour landscapes, with broad washes and line attention to detail. The associated artists are Myra Kilpatrick, Winifred M. Cox, Lula Currie. Ivy Thomson; M. J. Jackson, Shona McFarlane, and Pamela J. Miller
