Public Servants Are Asking For Further Increase In Salaries
Industrial Correspondent WELLINGTON, Aug. 22.
The claims of public servants to a further increase in pay to bring them into line with other sections of the community will be the principal concern of the annual conference of the New Zealand Public Service Association, which will be opened in Wellington to-morrow morning by the Prime Minister, Mr Fraser. The association, although still unsuccessful with its long-standing claims for higher rates, continues to press for “at least another £35.” The association is seeking also a settlement on the constitution of the Government Services Tribunal.
