The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Otago, Dr B. S. Aitken. will leave for Wellington this morning to attend a meeting of the Senate of the Universh" of New Zealand. The Senate will open to-day and conclude on Friday. Dr Aitken will return to Dunedin next Tuesday Mr C. Roy Spackman will leave by the express train this morning for Welling ton, where he will adjudicate on the instrumental sections at the Wellington competitions festival. Mr C. L. Martin, of Tai Tapu, who is judging the instrumental sections at the Dunedin competitions festival, is hie 1949 winner of the Philip Neill Memorial Prize awarded by the University of Otago. This music competition is open to anyone in New Zealand. Mr Martin’s violin sonata will be broadcast next month.
