FIRST DIFFICULTY
LICENSING CONTROL AUTHORITY FINDING OF ACCOMMODATION PA WELLINGTON, June 1. One of the immediate problems facing the Licensing Control Committee— Mr A. M. Goulding (chairman), Colonel B. Barrington and Mr L. C. Nisbet—is to find office accommodation. The commission met for the first time today in Wellington, but it had no headquarters. It discussed procedural matters and policy and will probably have several similar meetings before it gets properly under way. Mr Eric R. Graham, registrar of the Supreme Court at Nelson, has been appointed secretary to the commission but has not yet taken up his duties. Before going to Nelson last year he was for a considerable time assistant clerk of court at Wellington. He was also associated with the Mortgage Adjustment Commission throughout its existence and is one of the Justice Department’s best-known officers.
