Oamaru Defeated
Oamaru lost to Northern Hearts (Timaru) by 5 goals to 1 in an Association football competition match played under unpleasant conditions at Takaro Park on Saturday. Oamaru could not adapt itself to the wet ground and greasy ball. Play was even until just before half time, when Hearts scored two goals in quick succession. On changing over, Hearts controlled the ball With close combined play and scored three goals in quick succession. Oamaru scored its only goal in the closing stages of the game. Mr A. Napier was tne referee. Junior matches: Oamaru 4, Special School 1; Schoolboys 1, Special School 1.
