PROFESSIONAL CYCLING
GREEN ISLAND CLUB , The Green Island Cycling Club held its race for the Campbell Cup over a Bourse from Green Island to Bruce’s *, Rocks and return—a distance of 18 miles —on Saturday. The trophy was presented to the club by Mr T. Campbell, and is competed for annually. The holder was J. Campbell. There were 16 starters. Cycling conditions were perfect, and the only hazard the riders encountered was the heavy going on four miles of roadway south of Brighton. In a close and keenly-contested finish the judge awarded the following plac-ings-—G. Kerr. 6Jmin, 1; D. Bryce, 6Jmin, 2; W. Bambery, sJmin, 3; R. Carvell, 3imin, 4; D. Ralston, 3imin, 5. Fastest Times.—R. Carvel (3Jmin), 49min 38sec, 1; W. Whiston (2min), 49min 49sec, 2.
