The Manawatu Hunt meeting held at Awaouni began in fine, but overcast weather, but rain set in after the second race and continued until after the fifth. The course, good and fast early, cut out later, but recovered for the concluding races. The attendance was good and the totalisator investments, which would have been better but for the rain, were £43,952, compared with £47,043 10s last year. Kennels Hack Steeplechase, of £250.
