RUGBY COMPETITION Shag Point and Waikouaiti met at Waikouaiti. the game resulting in a draw, 9—all. It was a hard-fought forward struggle, with good defensive work being shown by both sets of backs. Waikouaiti’s points came from tries by Holland and Knox, while Kerr dropped a magnificent goal from just within the halfway mark. L. Thomson kicked three gqals from penalties for Shag Point. Bayley and Bradley, in the forwards, and Kerr and Templeton, in the backs, were prominent for Waikouaiti. The Shag Point forwards, Mansell and Murcott, played their usual solid game, with Andrews and Matheson showing up in the backs. Dunback scored its first win for the season when it defeated Palmerston by 14 points to 9. Good form was shown by the forwards, but mishandling by the backs nullified most movements. Murphy and Ryan scored tries for Dunback, R. •'Glover converting both and kicking a goal from a penalty. Murray scored for Palmerston. Meggett kicking two goals from penalties Waitati juniors 12 defeated Waikouaiti 8. Shag Point juniors 21 defeated Palmerston 6. The following is the draw for Saturday:—Seniors: Dunback v.
