LITERARY COMPETITION CANTERBURY CENTENNIAL, 1950. The Canterbury Centennial Association Incorporated announces a Literary Competition, in which prizes are offered as follows: (a) ONE-ACT PLAY: A First Prize of 30 guineas and a Second Prize of 15 guineas for a One-act Play with a Canterbury theme. • (b) SHORT PLAY FOR BROADCASTING: A First Prize of 30 guineas and a Second Prize of 15 guineas for a Short Play for Broadcasting with a Canterbury theme. (c) SHORT STORY: A r First Prize of 30 guineas and a Setond, Prize of 15 guineas for a Short Story of not more than 7500 words with a Canterbury theme. (d) ESSAY: A First Prize of 30 guineas and / a Second Prize of 15 guineas for an Essay of approximately 10,000 words dealing with some person, event, problem or movement of significance in the history of Canterbury. (e) POEM: A First Prize of 30 guineas and a Second Prize of 15 guineas for a Poem of not less, than 50 lines with, a Canterbury setting or dealing ' with some person, event, problem or movement of significance in the history of Canterbury.
