PEACEFUL INVASION
DANES TO RE-ENACT LANDING IN BRITAIN Rec 9 p.m. LONDON, May 26. Modern vikings from Denmark are planning another invasion of Britain in July to mark the fifteen-hundredth anniversary of the landing led by liengist and Horsa on the Isle of Thanet, Kent. A Viking ship being built in the Danish shipyards to match the type used by Hengist and his men will be sailed and rowed to Englarid by 50 picked Danish oarsmen—including Olympic athletes who will grow beards and wear historic costumes and armour.
