SCHOOL CADET SHOOTING ROXBURGH HEADS LIST FOR NEW ZEALAND NZPA Special Correspondent LONDON, May 26. The Earl Jellicoe Trophy for the best score returned by a New Zealand school cadet corps in the Imperial Challenge Shield rifle shooting competition was won by Roxburgh High School, which was placed twelfth in order of merit among the first 100 Empire cadet units participating. Roxburgh, which had one of the smallest teams among the New Zealand competitors, secured a total score of 91.027, compared with a score of 97.643 recorded by the team which won the shield—the Avonmore High School, Ontario, Canada. The runners-up in the New Zealand section of the competition were the Marlborough College team, who scored 91.005, and were placed thirteenth on the honours list.
Roxburgh was also second in the competition for Earl Haig’s sword. Roxburgh’s team numbered 27 boys and Marlborough’s team 181.
