TRICKY OXFORD WICKET PROVES DOWNFALL OF NEW ZEALAND BATSMEN

Rec. 1.25 a.m. LONDON, May 26. Oxford University dismissed the New Zealand cricket team for 110 runs before lunch on the second day of the match at Oxford. The wicket was soft on top and hard underneath, causing the ball to rise sharply. At lunch, Oxford had lost two wickets for six runs. Play was delayed half an hour because of rain. Smith was first to go, being caught off the second ball from Wrigley, and Donnelly, after playing out the over, was out to a brilliant catch by Carr in the next over. Wallace batted cautiously for a good 43 and with Rabone, added only five runs during 30 minutes.
