MEMBERS HONOURED
CAVERSHAM BOWLING CLUB The Caversham Bowling Club held a successful and largely-attended smoke concert on Saturday evening in honour of the club’s winning Adess Shield rink Prizes won during the season were also presented. The president, Mr J. McAllan, was in the chair, and visitors included the Mayor, Sir Donald Cameron, and members of other clubs. Toasts included: The Dunedin Bowling Centre ” (proposed by Mr C. H. Mackay. responded to by Mr A. Dodd), "Adess Shield Team ” (Mr Dodd—Mr A. McDougall) “ Tainui Team, Adess Shield Runner-up” (Mr McDougall—Mr W. Mills), " Umpires’ Association ” (Mr W. Sanders—Mr N. • Jolly), " Sister Clubs ” (Mr D. Mclntosh—Messrs Mullenger and Webb). Prizes won during the season were presented as follows:—Champion Singles. Mr T Crossan; Champion Doubles. Messrs W Bosworth and C. Barham; Handicap Singles, Mr C. Hughes; Handicap Doubles, Messrs L, Sainsburv and R. Leyland; Club Rinks—Messrs C. Hughes, J. McKmlay. J. Patterson, and C. H. Mackay. A valuable silver cup has been presented bv a supporter of the club, Mr T. McCracken, in memory of a late member, Mr A. Thomson, who was many times club champion. M Crrossan. the present champion, will be the first holder of the trophy.
