NEW RATES
EXPORT LEVY ON HIDES PA WELLINGTON. May 14. A reduction in the export levy rates for ox, cow, bull and calf hides is announced by the Hides Committee. The reduction is the result of a further easing of, overseas prices for hides. The levy rates for ox and cow (401 b and up), cow (under 401 b), bull (all weights), yearling (all weights) and calf (all weights) are given in that order for the following:— Freezers, 9id, 9ad, 12Jd, 7d, 16d. Abbatoirs, 91d, 9£d, 12Jd, 7d, 16d, 20d. Country butcher. 91d, 9£d, 12Jd, 7d; 16d, 20d. Farmers, 7d, 7d, 7d, 7d, 16d, 20d. The new rates will operate on all hides purchased at public auction or by tender on and after Monday.
