SUCCESSFUL SHOW
PENINSULA HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY Record entries of high standard and good quality were a feature of the Peninsula Horticultural Society’s winter show. Tlie decorative section was a very strong one. Mrs J. Fox won the S. J. McCraw aggregate trophy for most points for the three shows. The winners in the main clases were:—Champion of champion chrysanthemum, N. Coutts’s Japanese, “J. S. Lloyd premier single, G. Ward’s “ V.E.-Day premier decorative, L. Hellyer’s “ Blanche de Pointoi premier anemone, Mrs A. Lees’s " Stella.” The A. Erridge centennial trophy went to Mr N. Coutts for most points for amateur in the chrysanthemum classes. The following were prize-winners:— Decorative section: Mrs J. Fox, Mrs E. Bradshaw, Mrs J. Rutherford, Miss E. Curline, Mrs A. Brown, Noelene Sturmer, Shirley Dick, Mrs H. Mitchell, Mrs A. Lee and Mrs P. L. Clearwater. Chrysanthemum section: Messrs Ward, V. M. Dickinson, N. Coutts and L. Hellyer, S. J. McCraw, Mesdames Pratley, Lee, H. O’Kane, Rutherford and Brown. Vegetables: Mr P. Glen, Mrs F. Mitchell, Mr G. Notanan, Mrs I. Fleming, Miss Jimsie Fraser, f Mr West, Shirley Dick, Mr Ward Children's section: Russell Mitchell, Joan McCraw, Jean Glen, Daphne Dick, George Lee.
