DUNEDIN SEA CADETS TO ATTEND FIVE MONTHS IN CANADA Three sea cadets of the Otago NavyLeague Corps are to represent the province at an Empire training camp in Montreal, Canada. They are Chief Petty-officer A. E. Gubbins, Leading Seaman R. L. Bowles and Able Seaman M. HilL Gubbins is 18 years old and Bowles and Hill are each 17. They will leave for Canada by the Aorangi about July 5, and will spend two months at the camp. Then they will become the guests of the Canadian Navy League and visit its camps. For the remainder of their stay they will be billeted in private homes and will travel all- over Canada. They expect to return to the Dominion during November. The representatives of the Dominion who will attend the training camp will be under the charge of Lieuten-ant-commander M. Marckwick, of Auckland. The group will include three cadets from Canterbury, three from Wellington and a sub-lieutenant, and three cadets from Auckland. Bunting Displayed The rigging of the training ship Waiareka flew bunting on Saturday afternoon to welcome parents of the cadets and friends of the Navy League. The cadets demonstrated signalling, seamanship and general shipboard routine. One whaler was under sail, although the breeze was light, and the second whaler and the gig were both manned and gave a demonstration of pulling. A large number of visitors inspected the ship. About 10 of the cadets were camped on board the Waiareka for the week-end.
