CITY COUNCIL REPORTS
Sir,—Can you tell me whv the annual reports of the Trading Department of the city were taken in committee on Monday night? As far as I remember, this has never been done before. The occasion is usually an opportunity for the chairmen of the various departments to give the ratepayer much valuable in. formation. The bare figures supplied in the press do not make pleasant reading. I do not for one moment think the council is to blame for the adverse balances. Whv this hush-hush policy of the present council? It is not fair to the ratepayer. —I am. etc.. Interested.
