FIRST WOMAN MEMBER
DUNEDIN HOMESERVICEMEN’S EXECUTIVE WAAF IN RECENT WAR The Dunedin RSA set a precedent on Tuesday, when, for the first time in its history, it elected a woman candidate as a member of the executive committee. Yesterday the Dunedm branch of the Ne_w Zealand Homeservicemen’s Association followed the example, a 'woman being elected for the first time to its executive. She is Miss Iris J. Udy, head of a sales department in the DIC, who was a WAAF in the RNZAF in the recent war. \‘ As the required number of nominations was received for the new executive, no ballot Is necessary. Mr C. D. Crawford and Miss Udy are the only new members of the executive. 'fhe other nominated and automatically ’ elected were:—President, Mr A. Chisholm; vice-president, Mr A. W. Torrance; treasurer, Mr H. B Murray; Executive—Messrs R. M. Wilkie, S. M. Butler, H. H. Lethaby, S. R. Crimp, A. G. McP. Passmore, J. H. Fleury (representing the South Otago Sub-branch) and N. H. McMullen (Central Otago Sub-branch).
