MOTOR CAMP

‘ EASTER VISITORS ACCOMMODATION TAXED All the 160 beds available for holi-day-makers at the Tahuna motor camp have been occupied over the Easter holidays. Motorists from Christchurch to Invercargill made full use of the facilities offered by the camp and, in spite of the cold weather, spent an enjoyable holiday in the city. There were fewer caravans and tents this Easter than in past years. The main reason for the fall in numbers of actual campers is that Easter is late this year and wintry conditions have come earlier than in recent years. The motor camp promises to be full for the next few weeks. About 50 horses taking part in the Forbury Park Trotting Club's meeting will be stabled at Tahuna and many of the trainers and jockeys will stay at the motor camp. This year for the first time they will be provided with meals at the camp. The school holidays will also bring large numbers to the camp and accommodation is heavily booked. Bookings are also heavy for the Winter Show week in June.
