RUSSIA TO ATTEND
RED CROSS CONFERENCE PROTECTION OF CIVILIANS IN ATOMIC WAR Rec. 9 p.m. LONDON. Apl. 16. Russia will attend the Red Cross conference meeting in Geneva on April 21 to draft a new convention to protect civilians in the event of an atomic war, says Reuter's Berne correspondnt. Hungary and Albania have aiso accepted invitations to the conference, which was summoned by the Swiss Government. Several Eastern European Governments. including Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia, previously refused to attend. The conference, besides asking for a new convention for the protection of civilians, will modernise the existing conventions on the treatment of wounded and prisoners of war.
