“THE CRUCIFIXION”
Sir, —I should like, if I may. to support your critic’s estimate of the rendering of Stainer’s “ Crucifixion ” in Knox Church on Tuesday evening. I was especially moved by the concerted singing of so many young voices, though the work of the soloists was satisfying. If I might proffer one small piece of constructive criticism, I should like to hear the congregation given an opportunity to join in the hymns specially written for /the occasion. They are evange istic in tone, but do not detract from the catholicity of the entire am. etc.. C. R. Allen.
