LIBERATION OF PHEASANTS IN CANADA

British United Press TORONTO, ONT The Lands and Forests Department has now taken the feelings of 36,000 pheasants to heart. The department had in the past released pheasants from departmental hatcheries into the wilds , of Ontario in order to keep the population up to a good level. The department always had released the birds in the bush, without the birds having the slightest idea where they were. Now, in order to protect the sensitive ! souls of the pheasants, the department ! is taking young ones and placing them in pens outdoors for a few days before they are released. They then are allowed to wander away and find their bearings naturally.
